5th Test postponed, BCCI says will work with England board to “reschedule”

After the chaos due to Covid -19 cases in Indian cricket camp, the fifth Test between India and England has been cancelled on Friday.

The fifth Test match between India and England, scheduled to begin today in Manchester, has been cancelled, the England and Wales Cricket board announced on Friday.

The Indian cricket board has offered to reschedule the cancelled Test match, saying that both boards will work towards “finding a window to reschedule this Test match”.

After the visiting team was left on tenterhooks following physio Yogesh Parmar’s positive COVID-19 test that led to distresses that the infection could spread during the match which was cancelled a couple of hours before toss.

“Following ongoing conversations with the BCCI, the ECB can confirm that the fifth LV= Insurance Test between England and India Men due to start today at Emirates Old Trafford, will be cancelled,” ECB said in a media statement.
