The Delhi high court on Friday dismissed the plea of former Congress leader Sajjan Kumar, seeking more time to surrender after he was sentenced to life imprisonment in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots case.
The court had asked him to surrender by December 31. However, Kumar on Thursday had moved an application before the Delhi High Court seeking an additional 30 days for surrendering ahead of the December 31 deadline.
Kumar was convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment by the court in a case pertaining to killing five members of a family during the riots.
