25 dead as gunmen attack Gurdwara in Kabul

At least 25 people were killed after unidentified gunmen attacked a Sikh place of worship in Afghan capital of Kabul on Wednesday.

Union Minister of India Hardeep Singh Puri condemned the attack on Gurdwara Sahib in Kabul.

“Suicide attack on a Gurudwara Sahib in Kabul needs to be strongly condemned. These killings are a grim reminder of atrocities that continue to be inflicted upon religious minorities in some countries & the urgency with which their lives & religious freedom have to be safeguarded,” Hardeep tweeted.

According to the sources, suicide bombers stormed inside a gurdwara in Kabul and killed 25 people and wounded eight. The Afghan security forces responded, triggering a gun battle. 

Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh called the incident tragic and unfortunate.

“Horrific news coming from Kabul where a barbaric terror attack happened in the Gurudwara Guru Har Rai. It’s extremely tragic and unfortunate. Request President @AshrafGhaniJi to find out the perpetrators and look after our people,” Amarinder tweeted.
