A Bengaluru woman who raised ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogans at an anti-Citizenship Amendment Act rally where All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul- Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi was present, has been charged with sedition.
The woman, identified as Amulya, shouted slogans “Pakistan Zindabad” at the event organised under the banner of “Save Constitution”.
Asaduddin Owaisi and other men rushed to snatch the mic from her hands. However, the woman was adamant and raised the slogan again.
Amulya was arrested on Thursday evening soon after the event; a sedition case has been filed against her by Bengaluru police.
She has been sent to judicial custody.
The Karnataka BJP hit out at AIMIM Chief for the incident, saying “those who support Pakistan should go there forever”.
“Anti-CAA Activist Amulya Leona shouts PAKISTAN ZINDABAD in the presence of AIMIM Chief @asadowaisi at Bengaluru. Truth is that protests against #CAA are a joint venture between Pakistan & Anti-National Forces led by @INCIndia. Those who support Pakistan should go there forever,” Karnataka BJP tweeted.
