With record single-day spike of 83,883 new cases, India’s COVID-19 tally rise to 38.53 lakh

India has reported a record single-day spike of 83,883 new cases of coronavirus and 1043 deaths in the last 24 hours. The COVID-19 tally in the country now stands at 38,53,406, while the death toll rose to 67,376, according to Health Ministry data.

Of the total cases, 29,70,492 have been cured/discharged/migrated. There are 8,15,538 active cases of COVID-19 in India.

The recovery rate among coronavirus patients stands at 77.1%.

Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said over 4.55 crore samples have been tested up to September 2 of which 11,72,179 samples were tested yesterday.
