Maharashtra cabinet minister Aslam Shaikh tests positive for COVID-19, state’s tally stands at 3,10,455

Maharashtra cabinet minister and Congress leader Aslam Shaikh on Monday announced that he had tested positive for coronavirus.

He had requested all those who have come in close contact with him to get themselves tested.

“This is to inform that I’ve tested positive for Covid-19. I’m currently asymptomatic and isolating myself. I request all those who have come in close contact with me to get themselves tested. I will continue to work from home to serve the people of my state,” Shaikh tweeted.

Maharashtra is the worst affected state in the country, it has so far registered 3,10,455 COVID-19 cases, with 11,854 fatalities.

The Health Ministry on Sunday said that India’s Case Fatality Rate has fallen below 2.5%. “The Case Fatality Rate is progressively falling and currently, it is 2.49%. India has one of the lowest fatality rates in the world,” it said.
