With over 64,000 COVID-19 cases in 24 hours; India’s tally crosses 21-lakh mark

The coronavirus cases in India have crossed the 21-lakh mark as the country recorded over 64,000 cases.

With the highest single-day spike of 64,399 COVID-19 cases in 24 hours, India’s tally rose to 21,53,011, according to Health Ministry data.

Of the total cases, 14,80,885 have been cured/discharged/migrated. There are 6,28,747 active cases of COVID-19 in India.

The recovery rate among the coronavirus patients stands at 68.78%.

A total of 43,379 coronavirus patients have lost their lives.

Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) on Sunday said a total of 2,41,06,535 samples have been tested up to August 8 of which 7,19,364 samples were tested yesterday.
