With over 55,000 cases in 24 hours, India’s tally tops 16.3 lakh; Death toll at 35,747

India has registered 55,079 new cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours, according to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The total tally of COVID-19 infections in the country now stands at 16,38,871.

A total of 35,747 coronavirus patients have lost their lives.

There are 5,45,318 active cases while 10,57,805 people have been cured/discharged.

The recovery rate among the coronavirus patients further improved to 64.54 per cent, according to Health Ministry data.

Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) on Friday said a total of 1,88,32,970 samples have been tested up to July 30 of which 6,42,588 samples were tested yesterday.
