India has reported 80,472 new cases of coronavirus and 1,179 deaths in the last 24 hours. The COVID-19 tally in the country now stands at 62,25,763, while the death toll rose to 97,497, according to Health Ministry data.
Of the total cases, 51,87,825 have been cured/discharged/migrated. There are 9,40,441 active cases of COVID-19 in India.
The recovery rate among coronavirus patients stands at 83.3%.
Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said over 7.41 crore samples have been tested up to September 29 of which 10,86,688 samples were tested yesterday.
