India has reported 78,524 new cases of coronavirus and 971 deaths in the last 24 hours. The COVID-19 tally in the country now stands at 68,35,655, while the death toll rose to 1,05,526, according to Health Ministry data.
Of the total cases, 58,27,704 have been cured/discharged/migrated. There are 9,02,425 active cases of COVID-19 in India.
The recovery rate among coronavirus patients stands at 85.25%.
Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said over 8.34 crore samples have been tested up to October 7 of which 11,94,321 samples were tested yesterday.
