With 52,123 COVID-19 cases in 24 Hours, India’s tally at 15.8 Lakh

India has registered 52,123 new cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours, according to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The total tally of COVID-19 infections in the country now stands at 15,83,792.

A total of 34,968 coronavirus patients have lost their lives.

There are 5,28,242 active cases while 10,20,582 people have been cured/discharged, according to Health Ministry data.

India, which has the third highest COVID-19 cases in the world, has been witnessing gradual improvement in recovery rate.

The Union Health Ministry dedicated the achievement to the selfless sacrifice of frontline healthcare workers as the country crossed 10 lakh recoveries from coronavirus infections.

“India achieves the landmark of more than 10 lakh recoveries from Covid-19. This is an occasion to stand up and applaud our doctors, nurses and all frontline healthcare workers. It is their sheer dedication to duty and selfless sacrifice which has made such a tremendous recovery of Covid-19 patients a reality,” the Health Ministry earlier tweeted.

Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) on Thursday said a total of 1,81,90,382 samples have been tested up to July 29 of which 4,46,642 samples were tested yesterday.
