India has reported 78,512 new cases of coronavirus and 971 deaths in the last 24 hours. The COVID-19 tally in the country now stands at 36,21,245, while the death toll rose to 64,469, according to Health Ministry data.
Of the total cases, 27,74,801 have been cured/discharged/migrated. There are 7,81,975 active cases of COVID-19 in India.
The recovery rate among coronavirus patients stands at 76.63%.
Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said over 4.23 crore samples have been tested up to August 30 of which 8,46,278 samples were tested yesterday.
