India has reported 72,048 new cases of coronavirus and 986 deaths in the last 24 hours. The COVID-19 tally in the country now stands at 67,57,131, while the death toll rose to 1,04,555, according to Health Ministry data.
Of the total cases, 57,44,693 have been cured/discharged/migrated. There are 9,07,883 active cases of COVID-19 in India.
The recovery rate among coronavirus patients stands at 85.01%.
Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said over 8.22 crore samples have been tested up to October 6 of which 11,99,857 samples were tested yesterday.
