With 55,839 fresh cases of the coronavirus and 702 deaths in the past 24 hours, India’s tally stands at 77,06,946, while the death toll rose to 1,16,616, according to Health Ministry data.
Of the total cases, 68,74,518 have been cured/discharged/migrated. There are 7,15,812 active cases of COVID-19 in India.
The recovery rate among coronavirus patients stands at 89.20%.
Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said over 9.86 crore samples have been tested up to October 21 of which 14,69,984 samples were tested yesterday.
