With 54,366 fresh cases of the coronavirus and 690 deaths in the past 24 hours, India’s tally stands at 77,61,312, while the death toll rose to 1,17,306, according to Health Ministry data.
Of the total cases, 69,48,497 have been cured/discharged/migrated. There are 6,95,509 active cases of COVID-19 in India.
The recovery rate among coronavirus patients stands at 89.53%.
Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said over 10.01 crore samples have been tested up to October 22 of which 14,42,722 samples were tested yesterday.
