With 38,902 fresh COVID-19 cases in 24 hours; India’s tally at 10,77,618

The number of coronavirus cases in India have risen to 10,77,618 as it recorded 38,902 fresh infections in the last 24 hours. A total of 26,816 coronavirus patients have lost their lives, the Union Health Ministry said on Sunday.

There are 3,73,379 active cases while 6,77,422 have been cured/discharged, according to Health Ministry data.

Maharashtra remains the worst affected state in the country. The total number of COVID-19 cases has risen to 3,00937 with 11,596 fatalities.

Tamil Nadu has the second highest COVID-19 cases – 1,65,714 with 2,403 deaths followed by Delhi – 1,21,582 and 3,597 deaths, Karnataka – 59,652 with 1,240 deaths, Gujarat – 47,390 cases and 2,122 fatalities and Uttar Pradesh – 47,036 cases and 1,108 deaths.

Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) on Sunday said a total of 1,37,91,869 samples have been tested up to July 18 of which 358,127 samples were tested yesterday.
