West Bengal became the fourth state on Monday to pass a resolution against the contentious Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) in the Assembly.
“The time has come to put aside narrow differences and fight together to save the country,” Mamata said during her address in Assembly on anti-CAA resolution.
“In Bengal, we won’t allow CAA, NPR, and NRC. We will fight peacefully,” said TMC supremo , adding to it, she further said, “The new citizenship law is anti-people.”
The resolution was supported by Left parties and the Congress members.
Kerala, Punjab and Rajasthan are the other states that have passed a resolution against the Citizenship Act.
