Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, popularly known as KCR on Sunday ordered the setting up of a fast-track court for trial in the case of rape and murder of a 26-year-old veterinarian near Hyderabad and assured all necessary help to her family.
CMO Telangana in a tweet said, “CM Shri KCR officials have been instructed to investigate the murder of the veterinary fast and take action against the culprits. It was decided to set up a fast track court for a quick trial of the case. Officials have been asked to initiate the process.”
“The CM has announced that the government is ready to provide all necessary assistance to the family of the veterinary in the same manner,” CMO added.
Protests were held and at various places in Telangana against the incident with the public demanding death penalty for the accused.
The 26-year-old veterinarian went missing on Wednesday night after she left from her workplace and was headed home.
The victim was assaulted by the four men. They strangled her and then set her body on fire, police said.
