Uttar Pradesh: Police constable, history-sheeter killed in encounter in Amroha

A police constable Harsh Chaudhary and an alleged history-sheeter were killed in an encounter in Uttar Pradesh’s Amroha on Sunday night.

According to the sources, Harsh sustained bullet injury. He was immediately rushed to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment. 

“After receiving specific information about the presence of wanted criminal in Bachhraon area, a team of police went after him and asked him to surrender, the criminal fired at the police in which one of the constable Harsh Chaudhary got injured. He was taken to the hospital where he died during the treatment,” said senior police officer.

In the retaliatory fire, the criminal Shivavtar also sustained bullet injury and later died at the hospital.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced ex-gratia of Rs 40 lakh to the wife and Rs 10 lakh for the parents of the deceased constable. Moreover, a government job has been announced to one of his family members.
