Three civilians die, as Army opens fire after stone-pelting in Kulgam

Three civilians, including a teenage girl died as the army allegedly fired at a group of protesters in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Saturday.

According  to locals, clashes broke out when security forces entered Mishpora and Hawoora villages in Kulgam district for a cordon and search operation (CASO).

The deceased have been identified as Shakir Ahmad (22), Irshad Ahmad (20) and 16-year-old girl Andleeb.

As per sources, locals resorted to stone pelting, after army entered the villages, forcing the security personnel to retaliate by opening firing at the protesters, killing three civilians and injuring five others.

Government has suspended internet services in the area, after protests triggered due to the death of the three civilians.
