Satara : Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Thursday asserted that the state is moving along the thoughts of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj with the farmer as the center point of development. He stated that the State Government has spent funds worth Rs 1.5 lakh crores on agriculture and agriculture related works.
Fadanvis asserted that the water conservation works in all the drought hit areas of the state including Satara are progressing in the planned manner and the blot of drought on Maharashtra state will soon be a thing of the past.
Fadnavis today unveiled the horse mounted statue at Jaywantrao Bhosale Krishna Agriculture College at ShivNagar in Karad, Satara District.
Assuring that the work of bringing ultra modern technology in the agricultural sector is in progress, CM today stated that concrete measures are being taken to utilize the concepts like artificial intelligence in the agricultural sector.
The utilization of the digital system based on this technology can control the pests attacking the crop. Similarly the service societies in ten thousand villages in the state which are very significant for the farmers will be converted into Agri Business Societies .
Stating that the sugar industry is the backbone of the farmers, Fadnavis asserted that the State Government and the Central Government have taken many affirmative measures to restore the past glory of the sugar industry which has enabled the sugar factories to pay the entire minimum fair price amount to the farmers, since the Central Government made the Minimum Selling Price Act applicable to the sugar industry.
Due to the new ethanol policy, which has paved the way to find a lasting solution to the ethanol problem facing the sugar factories.The sugar factories have benifitted from the 5% GST on Enthanol, which has resulted in the factories offering a better rate to the farmers.
The Revenue Minister Chandrakant Patil stated that the State Government has ensured that the developmental works reach the last person in the society offering him a better standard of living
