India’s COVID-19 cases rise to 9,36,181; Death toll at 24,309

The number of coronavirus cases in India have risen to 9,36,181 as it recorded 29,429 fresh infections in the last 24 hours. A total of 24,309 coronavirus patients have lost their lives, the Union Health Ministry said on Wednesday.

There are 3,19,840 active cases while 5,92,031 have been cured/discharged, according to Health Ministry data.

Maharashtra remains the worst affected state in the country. The total number of COVID-19 cases has risen to 267665 with 10,695 fatalities.

Tamil Nadu has the second highest COVID-19 cases – 1,47,324 with 2,099 deaths followed by Delhi – 1,15,346 and 3,446 deaths, Gujarat – 43,637 cases and 2,069 fatalities, Karnataka – 44,077 with 842 deaths and Uttar Pradesh – 39,724 cases and 983 deaths.

A total of 1,24,12,664 samples have been tested up to July 14 of which 3,20,161 samples were tested yesterday, Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said.
