Television Actor Karan Oberoi on Monday arrested by the police in connection with a rape case. The actor who is best known for playing a role in show Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi has been accused of raping and blackmailing a woman.
An FIR was lodged at the Oshiwara Police Station in Mumbai under sections 376 (rape) and 384 (extortion) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against Oberoi.
According to the police, the actor was accused of allegedly raping the woman on the pretext of marriage. He not only filmed the act but also demanded the money from the victim and supposedly used the video to blackmail the victim.
Besides featuring in shows and ads, Karan is also a singer. He was a part of a pop band called Band of Boys which was formed in 2001.
