Prime Minister Modi conducts aerial survey of areas ravaged in Odisha by Cyclone Fani

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday conducted an aerial survey in Odisha to review the loss and destruction in the areas hit by Cyclone Fani which killed over 30 people.

He was accompanied by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Governor Ganeshi Lal and Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

Modi also reviewed the relief and restoration work with the top officials in the state.

PM Modi tweeted on Sunday, “Will be in Odisha tomorrow morning, where I will review the situation due to Cyclone Fani and hold meetings with top officials. The Centre is committed to provide all possible assistance in relief and rehabilitation measures underway.”

Earlier, the PM Modi spoke to Naveen Patnaik and assured all possible help from the Centre.

Over lakhs of people were evacuated from the vulnerable districts in Odisha ahead of Cyclone Fani’s landfall in the state on Friday.

On Sunday, National Crisis Management Committee (NCMC) under the Cabinet Secretary P. K. Sinha reviewed relief measures in the cyclone FANI affected areas of Odisha, West Bengal and Andhra Pradesh.
