Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during the first introductory meeting of the party’s newly appointed national office-bearers at the BJP headquarters in New Delhi, asked the newly appointed office-bearers an important question about strengthening the organisation and public outreach.

PM Narendra Modi directly addressed all 65 office-bearers participating in the meeting and asked them how the Congress party came to an end.

In response to this question, someone said that Congress survived on nepotism and did not build workers, which is why the party ended. Some office-bearers said corruption in Congress was at its peak, which is why Congress ended. There was a lack of organisation in Congress, which is why Congress ended. There was showmanship in Congress, which is why Congress ended.

After listening to all the leaders, PM Modi clearly told all the office-bearers not to do the very things that caused Congress to end.

The PM then clearly told all the newly appointed office-bearers that when they visit any area, they should avoid putting up banners, posters and hoardings and stay away from any kind of showmanship. They should also avoid taking out processions with convoys of vehicles.

Despite this, the office-bearers put up banners, posters and hoardings. They also organised a grand welcome with a convoy of hundreds of vehicles, while loud slogans in their names were raised.

Senior party office-bearers have taken note of the matter and indicated that action could follow in the coming days.

In the meeting, the Prime Minister said that organisational meetings are always an excellent opportunity to bring forth new ideas and new perspectives. He especially emphasised that the main objective of every step and effort of the party should be to strengthen the organisation and deepen and strengthen the party’s connect with the common people.

This meeting was the first formal introductory meeting between the Prime Minister and the new 65-member national team formed under the leadership of party president Nitin Naveen. He urged everyone to work together and take forward the party’s upcoming strategies.

Before this meeting, extensive discussions were also held at the party level on topics such as preparations for the upcoming Assembly elections, activating workers at the grassroots level and increasing dialogue with youth (‘Youth Dialogue’).
