Suspended Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Tahir Hussain, who was absconding in connection with the murder case of Intelligence Bureau (IB) staffer Ankit Sharma, was arrested on Thursday after his surrender application rejected by the court.
Tahir Hussain surrendered in the court. However, the court refused to accept former AAP leader’s request to surrender, saying the case was not within its jurisdiction.
Ankit Sharma, who had been missing since Tuesday evening, was recovered from a drain near Jafarabad on Wednesday.
His father Ravinder Sharma, who is also an IB employee, blamed Hussain and his supporters for the death.
On Tuesday, Tahir Hussain had moved a Delhi court seeking anticipatory bail. The court had, however, deferred the hearing.
The AAP suspended Tahir Hussain after he was charged for his involvement in the murder of an Intelligence Bureau (IB) staffer.
