Supreme Court five-judge Constitution bench to hear Ayodhya case

A five-Judge Constitution bench of the Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi constituted on Tuesday to hear from January 10 the title suit in Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid case.

Besides CJI Gogoi , the others in the bench will be Justice S.A. Bobde, Justice N.V. Ramana, Justice U.U. Lalit and Justice D.Y. Chandrchud,  according to a notice issued by the Additional Registrar (Listing) on Tuesday.

The Supreme Court had on January 4, said the appropriate bench that will hear a batch of cross appeals against the Allahabad High Court judgment in 2010 on the Ayodhya case will decide the future course of the hearing.

A bench comprising Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi and Justice SK Kaul said in the hearing which not even lasted for 30 seconds that further orders would be passed by an appropriate bench on January 10.
