Satya Pal Malik moved to Meghalaya; Bhagat Singh Koshyari given additional charge as Goa Governor

Goa Governor Satya Pal Malik was on Tuesday transferred and appointed as Governor of Meghalaya, while Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari was given additional charge as Governor of Goa.

Satya Pal Malik will replace Tathagata Roy in Meghalaya.

A Rashtrapati Bhavan communique said Malik is transferred and appointed as Governor of Meghalaya.

The communique further said Bhagat Singh Koshyari, Governor of Maharashtra has been asked to discharge the functions of Goa governor in addition to his own duties.

The above appointments will take effect from the dates they assume charge of their respective offices, it said.

Satya Pal Malik was appointed the Governor of Goa in October last year. Prior to this, Malik was Governor of Jammu and Kashmir. But, after the state was divided into two Union territories, he was moved to Goa.
