The Congress on Tuesday sacked Sachin Pilot as the Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister and the state party chief.
Along with Sachin Pilot, two other state cabinet ministers who had joined the Pilot camp have also been removed.
Education Minister Govind Singh Dostra has been made the new party chief, said Randeep Sujrewala during a press briefing.
The decision to sack the rebel leader was announced after Pilot skipped a second meeting of the Rajasthan MLAs called on Tuesday morning. Several Congress leaders had appealed to him and his MLAs to attend today’s CLP meet.
The first meeting was also skipped by Sachin Pilot and his loyalist MLAs on Monday.
Sachin Pilot-led Rajasthan Congress camp last night released a video showing around 16 MLAs sitting together.
On Sunday, Pilot claimed that he has the support of 30 MLAs and that the Ashok Gehlot government is in minority.
