Rohit Shekhar Tiwari, the son of former Uttar Pradesh chief minister ND Tiwari did not die a natural death, the post-mortem report revealed that he died an ‘unnatural death.
He was killed by being smothered with a pillow, sources in the Delhi Police said.
Following this revelation, the investigation has been transferred to the Crime Branch of the Delhi Police which has registered a case of murder.
The forensic and crime branch teams visited Rohit Shekhar’s residence and questioned his family members and domestic helps.
The probe also revealed there are seven CCTV cameras installed in Rohit’s house, of which the two were not working.
Rohit was declared brought dead to the Max Hospital in Saket in south Delhi on April 16.
Rohit Shekhar is survived by his mother and wife. ND Tiwari had not married Rohit Shekhar’s mother before his birth.
Rohit fought a long battle in court to prove that he was ND Tiwari’s son. A DNA test confirmed and the Delhi High Court declared ND Tiwari as his biological father in 2014. The same year ND Tiwari married Rohit’s mother Ujjwala.
