Five terrorists were killed on Wednesday in an encounter with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian district.
The gun battle started at Sugoo area of Shopian district.
Kashmir Zone Police earlier in a tweet said, “Encounter has started at #Sugoo area of #Shopain. Police and security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow.”
Indian Army tweeted, “Encounter has started at #SuguHandamah area of #Shopian. Joint operation was launched at 0145h today based on @JmuKmrPolice intelligence. Cordon was laid and contact established at 0530h. Further details follow.
This is third operation in Shopian district since Sunday.
On Monday, four terrorists were killed in an encounter with the security forces in Pinjora area of Shopian district while on Sunday five terrorists were killed in Reban area of Shopian.
