India’s COVID-19 tally crosses 2.76 lakh, Death toll at 7,745

The total number of coronavirus cases in India has jumped to 2,76,583 with 7,745 fatalities. There are 1,33,632 active cases, while 1,35,205 patients have been discharged/cured, the Health Ministry said on Wednesday.

Maharashtra remains the worst affected state in the country. The total number of COVID-19 cases has risen to 90,787 with 3,289 fatalities, according to Health Ministry.

Tamil Nadu continues to be the second-worst hit state with 34,914 Covid-19 cases and 307 deaths.

A spike of over 1000 cases in a single day have pushed Delhi’s tally past the 31,000-mark.

Delhi recorded 1,366 new cases, taking the total to 31,309 with the death toll rising to 905.

Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Tuesday said the number of Covid-19 cases in Delhi may rise to 5.5 lakh by July end.

A total of 50,61,332 samples have been tested as on June 10, of which 1,45,216 samples have been tested in last 24 hours, Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said.
