In a high profile Sushant Singh Rajput death case, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has named 33 persons, including actress Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik, in a charge sheet filed in a special court in Mumbai.
The NCB started the probe following the death of 34-year-old Rajput last June. The nearly 12,000 pages document comprises statements of more than 200 witnesses. Of the 33 accused, eight are still in judicial custody.
Earlier, Rhea and her brother Showik Chakraborty were arrested under various sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, but they were released later on bail.
In the investigation, various substances, electronic gadgets, and Indian as well as foreign currency were seized. The charge sheet now states that the tests confirmed that the seized substances were narcotic in nature and comprised charas, ganja, LSD, and psychotropic substances such as alprazolam and clonazepam.
The agency has also declared that evidence, comprising digital evidence, call records, WhatsApp chats, location tags, video and voice recordings, and several other documents had been submitted.
