Representatives of christen community hold meeting with Jatehdar Akal Takht

The representatives  of christen community belonged to Catholic Church of India, Church of North India along with officials of seven other churches here today jointly hold meeting with the Jatehdar Akal Takht the highest Sikh temporal seat Gyani Harpreet Singh.

At the time of meeting Jatehdar Takht Kesgarh Sahib Gyani Ragbir Singh was also present at the secretariat of Akal Takht.

During the marathon meeting the issues related to so called fake pastors  who indulged in the religious conversion discussed, whereupon representatives  of christen community vehemently denied having any relations with such kind of pastors who were allegedly creating rift between two communities. They said that in this regard a circular to be issued by the Christen community and name of fake pastors would also be highlighted.

Adding further they said that meeting was necessitated after unknown persons vandalized and desecrated a church at Patti in Tarn Taran district. So, there was a need of hour to hold open discussion between the Christian leaders and the religious leader of Sikh community ( jathedar). After the Tarn Taran incident there was a deadlock between the two sides.

Christian leaders said that they were deadly against   fake pastors, who claim to possess miraculous healing powers as this Practice goes against principles of the holy Bible. There was a need to investigate such practices which were creating rifts between the two communities.

 

Giani Harpreet Singh said that a joint committee to be formed that will comprise equal strength of members from both sides. This panel will jointly take action against this practice, he said, adding that the meeting was held in a cordial atmosphere.

 

The prominent from christen community who were present in the meeting with jatehdar Akal were  Bishop Angelina Rif  of Diocese of Jallandhar, Bishop Samantaroy of Discoes of Amritsar, Bishop  Daniel People of Dioceses of Chandigarh.
