Rajnath Singh added to four more cabinet committees

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has been added to four more committees of the Union cabinet late on Thursday, a day after the list of committees was released.

Earlier Singh was part of only two Cabinet Committees- security and economic affairs. But yesterday he was added to – the Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs, the Cabinet Committee on Political Affairs, the Cabinet Committee on Investment and Growth and the Cabinet Committee on Employment and Skill Development.

Under the Transaction of Business Rules, the Government has reconstituted Cabinet Committees. These include – Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, Cabinet Committee on Accommodation, Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs, Cabinet Committee on Political Affairs, Cabinet Committee on Security, Cabinet Committee on Investment and Growth and Cabinet Committee on Employment and Skill Development.

From the newly constituted cabinet committees, PM Narendra Modi is a part of six committees, barring Cabinet Committee on Accommodation and on Parliamentary Affairs, while Home Minister Amit Shah is part of all eight committees.
