Chandigarh : Security arrangements have been tightened in the wake of rail roko call given by Bhartiya Kisan Union (Ugrahan).

Police said they were keeping an hawk eye on the activities of farmer leaders so as to avoid any confrontation on Thursday.

Railway official said that arrival and departure of the all the trains from Amritsar railway station remained normal till 12. P.m as all the trains arrived here as normal without any interruption.  Similarly all the trains which were scheduled to depart from Amritsar before 12.00 p.m moved as per their scheduled time.

official further said that after 12.00 p.m train service badly crippled due to farmers agitation as they squat on railway track in the outer area of Amritsar district Railway track at village Devidaspura the rail line connecting Amritsar to Delhi. Official said that train service would  be normalized when rail track would be freed by farmers after 4 p.m.

Hence after 12.00 p.m All the incoming and outgoing train services were badly affected here from  Amritsar Railway Station  as none of the train neither departed from Amritsar and nor arrived here due to the Rail Roko call given by the farmers outfit.

However, due  to the farmers’ Chalo Delhi agitation, the sealing of Haryana-Punjab suffered severe inconvenience. Earlier  Sanyukt Kisan Morcha announced a Rail Roko drive and toll plazas to be made free, besides, they also gave a Bharat Bandh call for February 26 in support of their demands which also  includes MSP.
