Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Saturday slammed the BJP over the farmers’ protest in Delhi.
Taking to the microblogging site, Priyanka in a tweet said, “Look at the country’s system under the BJP government. When the billionaire friends of BJP come to Delhi, a red carpet is put for them. But for farmers roads to Delhi are being dug. If Delhi makes a law against farmers, then it’s right but if farmers come to Delhi to raise their voice against the law, then it’s wrong?”
Sharing a photo on his Twitter handle, Rahul Gandhi in a tweet said, “It is a very sad photo. Our slogan was ‘Jai Jawan Jai Kisan’ but today PM Modi’s arrogance made the jawan stand against the farmer. This is very dangerous.”
On Friday, farmers were allowed to hold peaceful protests at the Nirankari Ground in Delhi. Earlier that day, protesting farmers at Singhu border broke barricades as they clashed with Delhi Police which used tear gas shells to disperse them.
