The Supreme Court on Thursday dismissed the review petitions against its December 14, 2018 verdict upholding the 36 Rafale jets’ deal.
The bench comprising Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi and Justices SK Kaul and KM Joseph said the court cannot have a fishing or roving inquiry into the Rafale deal case.
The top court also closed contempt plea against Rahul Gandhi for his remarks relating to Rafale deal, saying he should be more careful in future.

On May 10 this year, the Apex Court had reserved the order on the review pleas.
In its December 14, 2018 judgement, the top Court had dismissed the petitions seeking a probe into alleged irregularities in the Rs 58,000 crore Rafale fighter jet deal.
