Quad members discuss bilateral and global dimensions of special partnership, stability in Indo- Pacific

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Tuesday met his counterparts from Japan, United States, Australia and Japanese PM Yoshihide Suga to discuss bilateral and global dimensions of the special partnership of the Quad group members.

“Called on PM @sugawitter along with other Quad Foreign Ministers. Spoke about the bilateral and global dimensions of our special partnership,” Jaishankar said in a tweet.

Earlier in the day, Jaishankar met Pompeo and talked about the stability and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region.

“Began my Tokyo visit with a bilateral meeting with @SecPompeo. Pleased to see the progress of our partnership in so many fields. Will work together for stability and prosperity in the Indo- Pacific,” said Jaishankar in a tweet.

This is the first meeting of Quad foreign ministers amid border standoff between India and China.
