Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday inaugurated the Bolangir-Bichhupali railway line in Odisha.
Moreover, Modi laid the foundation stone for a permanent building at the Kendriya Vidyalaya at Sonepur and inaugurated new Passport Sewa Kendras.
“More development works that will be inaugurated are: Bridge no. 588 between Therubali-Singapur road station. Passport Sewa Kendras at Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Puri, Kandhamal, Bargarh and Balangir. Renovation and restoration works at Asurgarh Fort in Kalahandi,” Modi said on Monday.
Addressing the gathering during the inaugural event, Prime Minister Modi said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government is committed towards the development of Odisha.
“We have either inaugurated or laid the foundation stones of projects worth Rs 1550 Cr, All these projects are connected to education, connectivity, culture and tourism,” the statement said.
“With the inauguration of six new Post Office Pass Port Seva Kendras #PSK, now the people of #Odisha, won’t have to travel very far to get their passports,” it added.
The statement further said, “There are many historical monuments along the traditional trade route connecting #Odisha with Central India, all those are being renovated.”
Apart from inaugurating the railway line, Prime Minister Modi launched six Ministry of Railways projects, including the launch of 813 kilometre of electrified lines from Jharsuguda to Vizianagaram and Sambalpur to Angul.
“There is something special about Odisha, that draws me to the state so often! Tomorrow I will be in Balangir to inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for several development works, which will have a transformative impact on Odisha’s progress,” Modi tweeted on Monday.
