PM Modi: ‘We will begin new journey with new energy’

Narendra Modi on Saturday bowed before the Constitution of India at the beginning of his address in the NDA parliamentary meeting.  He said his government will now begin a new journey to build a new India with new energy.

Modi thanked everyone and said, “The BJP has chosen me. All leaders of the NDA, all parties of the NDA chose me. I am one of you, equal to you.”

Modi in his address also stressed on the need to win over the trust of minorities. “Minorities have been kept in fear and exploited during elections for vote-bank politics. We have to end this. We have worked for Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, now we have to strive for Sabka Vishwas,” he added.

“People have accepted us due to our ‘seva bhav’. One has to prepare oneself to be always ready to help people even when you move through the lanes of politics and power,” said Modi.

“There was a pro-incumbency sentiment in this election. This pro-incumbency wave is tied with the thread of trust. The trust was not only between people and government but also among people themselves,” he said.

“This is for the first time in Independent India, we have largest number of women MPs sitting in the Parliament. This has been made possible due to women power,” Modi said.
