Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday visited the residence of Veteran leader Sushma Swaraj and paid his last respects.
Emotional Prime Minister consoled Swaraj’s husband and daughter. He will attend her funeral in the evening, official sources said.
President Ram Nath Kovind, Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu, Home Minister Amit Shah, BSP supremo Mayawati, UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi were among the politicians, diplomats and common people who paid last respects to the veteran leader at her residence.
Swaraj’s body will be kept at the BJP headquarters from noon to 3 pm. Then, her body will be taken to the Lodhi Road crematorium for the last rites.
Swaraj passed away on Tuesday night due to cardiac arrest. She was 67.
