PM Modi expresses grief over road accident in Maharashtra’s Nashik

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday condoled the deaths of people who lost their lives in a road accident in Maharashtra’s Nashik.

The accident in Maharashtra’s Nashik district is unfortunate. In this hour of sadness, my thoughts are with the bereaved families. May the injured recover at the earliest,” the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO)said in a tweet quoting Modi.

The death toll in Tuesday’s bus-auto rickshaw collision has increased to 26, with the recovery of more bodies from the well in which both the vehicles had fallen, an official said.

The accident took place on Tuesday evening when a state transport (ST) bus collided with an auto-rickshaw, causing both the vehicles to fall into a roadside well.

According to the official, the bus was on its way to Kalwan in Nashik from the adjoining Dhule district, while the auto-rickshaw was coming from opposite direction.
