The selected Yatris are informed through SMS and email messages. Applicants for the Yatra can also login at the website to check the status of their selection, or through the automated helpline number.

As per the release, “this year 2996 applicants had successfully registered online at the website for this Yatra, which includes 2256 male applicants, and 740 female applicants. As per schedule for 2019, there would be 18 batches consisting of 60 Yatris via the Lipulekh route, and 10 batches consisting of 50 Yatris via the Nathu La route which is fully motorable, and involves very little trekking.”

“The Nathu La route is expected to benefit senior citizens who are keen to go for this pilgrimage,” it said.

Since 2015, the entire process commencing with on-line application till selection of Yatris is a fully computerized process. Therefore, applicants do not need to send a letter or fax to seek information.
