Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday said they will release captured Indian Air Force (IAF) pilot tomorrow as a peace gesture.
Khan made the announcement while addressing a joint session of the parliament where he briefed members of the Senate and National Assembly on the ongoing situation with India.
“Pakistan’s desire for de-escalation should not be confused as weakness, said Imran Khan.
Indian government sources today said they have not asked for consular access to the IAF pilot and is insisting on his unconditional and immediate return.
On Wednesday, India had summoned the acting high commissioner of Pakistan and demanded the immediate and safe return of the IAF pilot.
India had also conveyed a strong objection to Pakistan’s vulgar display of injured personnel of the Indian Air Force in violation of all norms of International Humanitarian Law and the Geneva Convention
Pakistan on Wednesday captured Pilot Abhinandan following a fierce engagement between air forces of the two sides along the Line of Control (LoC).
