One terrorist was killed on Thursday after an encounter broke out between terrorists and security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Awantipora.
According to information, security forces launched a joint operation and cordoned the area after inputs about the presence of terrorist. Announcements were made to terrorist to surrender but grenades were lobbed on security forces, which ensued the encounter and terrorist was killed.
Chinar corps-Indian Army in a tweet said, “Op Machhama, Awantipora, Pulwama. Joint operation was launched today morning based on @JmuKmrPolice inputs. Area cordoned. Multiple announcements made to make terrorist surrender. Terrorist lobbed grenades on SF in return.Firefight ensued, 01 terrorist eliminated.”
Kashmir zone police in a tweet said, “#TralEncounterUpdate: #Encounter at #Machama concluded without any collateral damage. #Arms & ammunition recovered. Search is still going on.
“#Encounter has started at #Maghama area of #Tral #Awantipora. 01 unidentified #terrorist killed. Police and security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow,” Kashmir zone police said in another tweet.
