Five Maoists were killed in a gunbattle with security forces in Odisha’s Malkangiri district, police said on Monday.
The gun battle took place inside a Bejingwada forest near Papluru village in the Kalimela on late Sunday.
A combing operation by a joint team of Special Operation Group (SOG) personnel and Odisha Police led to the encounter in which the five Maoists, including a woman was killed, Additional Director General (Operation) said.
