Mumbai: Fire breaks out at hospital in Andheri

A major fire broke out on Monday at a hospital in Andheri where some people were feared trapped, an official said.

As per the reports, the fire brigade got a call around 4 pm about the blaze at the government-run Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) Kamgar Hospital located at Marol in suburban Andheri.

At least one person has lost his life, as per the latest updates.

According to the fire department officials, the level three fire, which is defined as a major incident, was reported from the fourth floor of the (ESIC) Hospital. It was later raised to level four.

Fire tenders were rushed to spot and the efforts were on to douse the flames and evacuate the patients.

“Some people are feared trapped, rescue operation is underway,” the official said.
