145 days after restrictions were imposed in Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh, mobile internet services were restored on Friday morning in Kargil district of Ladakh.
The restoration of mobile internet connections came over four months after the Centre revoked Jammu and Kashmir’s special privilege and split it into two union territories, Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.
According to the officials, the services were restored taking into consideration complete normalcy returning to Kargil, with no untoward incident taking place over the past four months.
The authorities snapped Internet services on August 5, hours before the Centre announced its decision to abrogate Article 370 and to bifurcate the state into the union territories.
