Many feared dead in a firecracker explosion during a religious procession in Punjab’s Tarn Taran district on Saturday, police said.
The explosion took place during a nagar kirtan, a religious procession near Pahu village in Tarn Taran.
The nagar kirtan was being carried out to mark the birth anniversary of Baba Deep Singh.
The explosion reportedly occurred as one of the firecrackers burst during the procession landed on the tractor-trolley that was carrying more fireworks, officials said.
